Southern Software is helping the Wayne County Sheriff's Office increase its information sharing and records keeping efforts to better serve our communities.

The sheriff's office has completed the process of upgrading to Southern Software Records Management System (RMS) and Jail Management System (JMS), providing new software solutions for the agency's law enforcement records management, corrections management, decision support, and field reporting abilities.

Southern Software was chosen due to their innovative software solutions and because they are a company we can grow with.

“After raising enough money in our special litigation fund, without raising taxes or taking money from the county budget, we were able to proceed with this much needed upgrade”, Sheriff Ric Wilson said.

This software comes with many internal features but also some that the public can utilize. The public can now get real time information on inmates booked in and out of the Wayne County Jail. Present and former (past 5 days) inmates can now be looked up to see their name, DOB, age, charges, court date, mug shot, bond info and much more. This is all seen on the sheriff’s webpage, and navigating to the inmate search link or by going to

When asked about the software upgrade, BJ Eaton, Administrative Assistant for the Sheriff’s Office said, “It’s so user friendly and the support and customer service Southern Software gives is the best. This software will help streamline our records for many years to come."

Upgrading to this new software will also help our deputy’s and correctional officers work more safely and efficiently to better serve you in the community.
